A powerful new video is making its rounds last weeks, and I’ll admit, it’s a tough watch. The message is one we all know – Children are great imitators; what they see you and I do each day, our actions, will shape who they become. As they look upon us with their impressionable eyes, we are sculpting them, moment by moment.
But what will they become? That’s the question being asked by the Huffington Post on Wednesday. “The images are quite jarring, but they’re also a great reminder to parents to be mindful of your actions,” writes the Post.
The video is brought to us by the National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect(NAPCAN) – Australia’s leading advocate for the prevention of child abuse and neglect.
The video shows children mimicking the actions of their parents – smoking, littering, engaging in road rage, puking up in an alleyway, abusing animals, raging, screaming, and committing domestic abuse, both physical and verbal. All the horrible traits we hope our children will be impervious to.
