Apple has been linked with an acquisition bid for electric car maker Tesla.
The Cupertino firm's head of mergers Adrian Perica has held meetings with the automaker's chief executive Elon Musk, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
The newspaper also claims that Musk has met with Apple boss Tim Cook at the company's headquarters in California, speculating that such high-level talks indicate a buyout is on the cards.
This is not the first time that Apple has been linked with Tesla, with German analyst Adnaan Ahmad urging the iPhone maker to join forces with the car company in an open letter last year.
